Antifoul stripped without gelcoat damage, bilges cleaned without water, hulls preserved over decades — not just refreshed for one season.
Sandblasting damages your gelcoat. Chemical strippers are increasingly prohibited at the marina. Pressure washing inside the engine room introduces moisture into electrics that don't tolerate moisture. Dry ice cleaning is the marine-friendly answer for antifoul, hull, deck, bilge and engine room work — gelcoat-safe at the right pressure, zero water-borne run-off, and effective on all the marine surfaces (gelcoat, aluminium, wooden trim, modular plastic, alloy, copper) you'll encounter on a single boat.
Pain points we hear most
- Sandblasting damages gelcoat that takes years and decoats to repair
- Chemical strippers blocked by marina water-quality compliance
- Pressure washing in engine room soaks electrics
- Antifoul build-up after 8-12 years requires full strip-back
- Multi-substrate vessels (gelcoat, aluminium, teak, alloy) need different cleaning approaches
What you're looking for
- Gelcoat preservation (no abrasive damage)
- Marina compliance (zero run-off)
- Multi-substrate capability
- In-water bilge / engine room work option
- Cost vs sandblast (slower per m² but no rework)
What customers like you ask before they book
Will it damage my gelcoat?
No — pressure tuned per substrate. Gelcoat preserved. We test on inconspicuous areas first. Verified by shipwrights on every job we run.
How does the run-off compliance work?
Zero water-borne run-off. Antifoul flake is captured on ground sheets and disposed of as solid waste. We provide a disposal certificate for marina compliance records.
Sandblasting is faster — why pay more?
Sandblasting damages gelcoat thickness with every cycle. After 3-4 sandblasts the gelcoat is too thin to refinish. Dry ice extends your refit cycle indefinitely. The cost per remaining year of vessel life is lower.
Can you do bilge work in the water?
Yes. Most engine-room and bilge cleaning happens in-water at the dock. No haul-out required for above-waterline work.

Marina's FAQs
How long does a full antifoul strip take?
Most 30-50ft cruisers take 2-4 days. Larger vessels add 1-2 days. We work alongside your shipwright for any hull repairs revealed by the strip.
Can you do work above the waterline only (no haul-out)?
Yes — for hull and deck above waterline, plus bilge and engine room work. Below-waterline antifoul work needs hardstand.
Will it lift original signwriting / decals?
No, with care. We mask original signwriting and decals before any nearby work, and use lower pressure when working close to them.
What's the marina-side compliance?
Zero water-borne run-off. Solid antifoul flake captured and disposed of with a disposal certificate. Most marina compliance teams have signed off without issue.
